Halo Dogs Modern Slavery Statement

Halo Dogs Modern Slavery Statement (Pursuant Modern Slavery Act 2015)

Version 2.0 – Last updated: 13 July 2025

Introduction

Halo Dogs is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chain. As a leading dog care provider in London and the surrounding counties, we recognise our responsibility to operate ethically and with integrity.

Our Business and Supply Chain

We provide luxury dog hotel services, day care, training, grooming, and rescue through our affiliated charity. Our supply chain includes contractors and vendors providing food, pet supplies, transport, facilities, and IT services. Most partners are UK-based and are required to operate within the bounds of UK employment law.

Policies and Procedures

  • Supplier Code of Conduct: Requires all partners to confirm compliance with laws banning forced labour and exploitation.
  • Whistleblowing Policy: Empowers employees to report misconduct or unethical practices anonymously.
  • Anti-Slavery Policy: Guides our approach to detecting and preventing slavery in all operations.

Due Diligence

We require suppliers to complete a pre-qualification checklist that includes questions on labour practices, recruitment procedures, and ethical sourcing. Contracts include clauses granting us the right to terminate partnerships for non-compliance.

Employee Training

All staff receive annual training on ethical conduct and modern slavery awareness. Our management and procurement teams receive enhanced training to ensure they can identify risk and enforce policy.

Risk Assessment

We monitor risk by reviewing supplier sectors, employment models, and country of operation. Higher scrutiny is applied to areas such as logistics, third-party contractors, and seasonal workers.

Monitoring and Enforcement

We conduct periodic reviews, maintain supplier scorecards, and update policy frameworks annually. Any confirmed breach results in escalation to our leadership and immediate action.

Ongoing Improvement

We are committed to:

  • Maintaining current best practices in ethical sourcing
  • Auditing high-risk areas regularly
  • Partnering with organisations combatting modern slavery
  • Reviewing and updating this statement annually

Approval

This statement has been approved by the Halo Dogs Board of Directors and reflects our commitment to ethical, responsible practices across all aspects of our business.
