I can’t say enough to praise Halo Dogs. I was introduced to the service by a friend of a friend and was desperate to find someone caring to look after my little rescue dog on days when I couldn’t. From the first minute I met Justin, I knew we had found someone special and that any service run by him had to be equally special. We first visited on a Saturday afternoon, to give Justin a chance to assess CJ and check she would fit in at the farm. We expected to spend maybe half an hour on this but, in the event, Justin spent hours with us. Not only did he spend careful time with CJ, showing gentleness and skill in the way he handled her and talked about her, but he answered all our dumb questions and talked to us for as long as we needed about many aspects of her care.  My experience of Halo Dogs, unsurprisingly after that, has turned out to be just as special. Which is not surprising with a leader like Justin. His team are lovely – efficient and reliable and sweet, sweet, sweet to the dogs. And I can’t say enough about Justin who is one of those rare individuals in life who really cares – about his team, his clients and most of all, about dogs. His knowledge and skill is top class but he shares it with generosity and compassion. He has been there for me any time I have needed advice or help and because of the relationship he has built up with us and with CJ, he is the very first person I call now whenever she has a little triumph and overcomes one of her many fears. Thank God for Justin, for Jackie who is also a darling,  and thank God for Halo Dogs. Special people in an increasingly cruel world

I think I was one of Justin’s first clients at ‘The Dog House’, as it was then called, so I don’t know how come I’ve never yet managed to write a testimonial for ‘Halo Dogs’ given that I must be their biggest fan and I never, ever miss an opportunity to talk about them to anyone prepared to listen!

When I lost Cracker [my beloved 14 year old German Shepherd] to cancer a couple of years ago, I didn’t think I could face having another dog.  I was looking after my 85-year old mum who needed full time care at that time, as well as working.  But although I was heartbroken and missed Cracker desperately, I couldn’t contemplate replacing her – the situation was just too difficult. My daughter, however, thought otherwise; my dogs have always been such an important part of my life and she felt the gap was too painful for me.  So at her insistence, bless her, I ended up with Charlie, the last [but not least!] of a litter of 11 German Shepherd pups who I was virtually dragged in chains to see and, of course, couldn’t resist once I’d seen her.

My mistake;  I’d forgotten that having a 12-week old puppy is a bit like having a baby all over again – really hard work  – and between caring for my mum and looking after Charlie – I was beyond exhausted and almost at my wit’s end when I first heard of ‘The Dog House’ and the service they had to offer.  I rang Justin and he came to ‘interview’ me at home to see if I was a suitable owner for The Dog House clientele and if Charlie would be a suitable pooch to introduce to the pack. I was beside myself at the thought of being interviewed, convinced I’d blow the whole thing and was on my best behaviour.  Charlie, on the other hand,  wasn’t remotely bothered at being interviewed and  bounced around noisily for the duration, taking not even the slightest bit of notice of me as  I tried to surreptitiously demonstrate to Justin how well-behaved and well-balanced she was, highly trained…… etc. etc. All to no avail:  Justin didn’t seem to notice – he just chatted happily to my mum and they got on like a house on fire while I was dragged around the lounge floor at the end of a stringy chewed up toy.

Anyway, fortunately, the upshot was that Charlie started being picked up by Justin in the mornings and whisked off to The Dog House for balmy, action-packed days on the farm.  She  was delivered  back home [happy and exhausted] while I was still at work – when Justin would then sit and chat to my mum – something she really enjoyed and looked forward to do and something I’ve always been eternally grateful to him for.  I think he lit up her day almost as much as he did Charlie’s.

And then – when my mum died – there was Justin again [and Sal and the rest of the team] unbelievably supportive and whisking Charlie off to the farm for as long as it took so that I could sort out everything that needed to be sorted.  They just swept in and did everything to make life so much easier for me and my family at that awful time.

I now have a beautiful, beautiful two year old shepherd who is happy, bouncy, glowing with health, gentle, well-socialised and a joy to have around, much of which I’m certain is due to the incredible love, care and stimulation she’s been given at the farm at Botany Bay  [… as well as extensive  training from me at home, obviously……]

The team all have such an affinity with the dogs in their care [in fact I sometimes worry Charlie forgets who she’s supposed to love best…]. They put everything into the dogs – and you get everything back.  They’re a shining example of how to treat and respect animals and what you get in return if you do.  I simply can’t praise Justin, Jackie, Sal, T, Stu and the rest of the Halo team enough.  They have made such an enormous difference to my life, to my Charlie’s life – and no doubt to the lives of countless other dogs and owners.  But above and beyond that, they are now rescuing and rehoming dogs who aren’t as fortunate as most of Halo Dogs pack – and for that I take my hat off to them all – and to Justin and Jackie in particular.

Oh … and then there was Lola, my daughter’s little ‘jug’ who now goes to Halo with Charlie  -she’s  the one that looks a little  bit like Yoda out of Star Wars on the website….  Right ………………..

Sunny loves her days on the farm! Having joined the pack at 11 weeks old, she’s been well socialised since an early age helping her to be a very happy, healthy and friendly pup. The Halo team are total dog lovers, and I know that along with the agility and training, Sunny always gets her daily dose of extra cuddles too! As well as providing excellent day care, Halo has offered me tons of support, advice and reassurance with puppy training and health concerns, invaluable for a first time dog owner who asks a lot of questions! And I love the videos they make too.. Halo is a hidden treasure.

Justin and his team at Halo Dogs have changed my life!  In May 2009 I adopted my second dog who was a 10 week old mixed breed puppy (Staff, boxer, bull terrier?)  called Sammy. Within a very short time I realised that he was not an easy puppy. He developed all sorts of behaviour problems, and even though I was winning some of the battles, I was losing more!  I was at my wits end.  Then… I found Justin!!  He took him for me for 2 weeks in August 2009.  Before he went he had food possession issues and was already displaying aggressive behaviour. He came back a changed dog!!! !

He is now 21 months old and the most wonderful dog,  kind, loving, great fun and very well balanced and very well socialised.  If I hadnt’ found Justin I doubt very much that I would have been able to raise him successfully.  Sammy still goes to daycare twice a week and absolutely loves it!  I cant recommend Halo Dogs highly enough.  They are very professional, reliable and take very good care of each and every dog they have in their care. Justin has an abundence of patience and has a wonderful ability to understand each dogs needs.  The dogs have the most wonderful time with them in a great and healthy environment.

I have used Halo Dogs for both doggy day care and most recently for expert advice on dog behaviour issues prior to me and my husband expecting our first child. Our little Norfolk terrier Milo loved the doggy day care and always came back tired and happy with a glowing report card!  I have also noticed that she has always been really well behaved with other dogs whilst out walking due to being so well socialised when she was a puppy at Halo dogs. It was reassuring to have photos and emails throughout the day from Justin and his team letting me know how Milo was getting on when she was there.
I recently asked Justin to come over to our house to carry out specific training for Milo in relation to her possessiveness and jealousy in order to prepare her for the new arrival. The advice and guidance Justin provided us with was invaluable and it would have been impossible for us to have had such success from a dog training book. He provided tailored training guidance specifically for our dog, taking into account her characteristics and behaviour. My husband and I are amazed at the progress she has made in such a short amount of time and both feel that having one to one dog training dealt with problems quickly and efficiently. I would recommend Halo Dogs to anyone who wants to leave their dogs with trust worthy people who love animals, as you know they will be loved and cared for the way you love them.

Justin and Halo Dogs have been our most trusted source for dog training and care since our girls were puppies. Not only do they understand dogs and what they need to be healthy and happy, but they genuinely care about them and their welfare. When our dogs stay with them, we are 100% confident that they are getting the best of care and having the time of their lives. We also love that we get constant updates and photos.  As for the pups, they absolutely LOVE Justin and don’t even realize that they are having all of their good behavior reinforced and less-ideal behavior worked on during their stay.  We are so thankful to have found Halo Dogs!

I was very impressed with Justin’s professionalism when he first came to help me “control” a somewhat wayward and willful Golden Retriever – Rudi. Enfield’s answer to Cesar Milan had Rudi sorted and also taught my lovely eight year old Max how to walk properly on the lead; all in the space of an hour and a half. That was the start of a very long and happy relationship!
Max and Rudi are regulars at Halo dogs during the week and often go for extended doggie sleepovers. They have a wonderful time and come home happy, and thankfully, exhausted at the end of their day. The videos, photos and text messages which I receive during the time they are there all serve to relieve my “separation anxiety”; safe in the knowledge that they are in expert hands.
Justin, Jackie, Sal and T probably love my boys almost as much as I do. The biggest concern is that my boys appear to love those four as much as they love me……..so I guess they must be doing something right!

Treacle Pud is a playful 5 year old, who requires a fair amount of exercise if I want a quiet life.  I found Halo Dogs last year and thought agility classes were an ideal way to burn of some of that energy; and I wasn’t wrong. There is an abundance of equipment to use and the courses change every so often so your dog always has a new challenge. From the first class I was immediately impressed with the individual attention that we received, and found the Team to be  friendly, patient and put me at ease from the moment I met them.

Since then Treacle has also become an occasional visitor to day care; sometimes for a treat and spruce up, and at other times of need.  She is collected from home of a morning,  leaving without a backwards glance;  and is returned thoroughly chilled out and relaxed after a day of fun with her friends.  Treacle loves the exercise and socialising and I am sure that she is a much happier dog; which equals a much happier owner!

Having never ever used any type of doggy care/walkers, we were a little concerned with allowing a stranger to enter our home and take away my babies. However, on our initial home visit Justin made us feel super comfortable and assured us that Riku would be welcomed to the pack with open arms.
Riku has been attending day care for around 4 months. He has always been a bouncy pup with plenty of energy but Halo Dogs are ALWAYS able to send him home COMPLETELY shattered (I still don’t know how you do it).
We also introduced Precious to the pack although I think she enjoys the human company more then her doggy friends .
Over all Halo Dogs have been a god send. They are professional, reliable and are always on hand to offer advice and peace of mind.
We would definitely recommend Halo dogs to any first time doggy care users and we hope that both Riku and Precious will stay members of their pack for years to come.

We feel so lucky to have found Edie a day care centre where she is cared for by people who adore animals in the same way as we do.  Justin and his team are primarily motivated by their love of animals, and this comes through in the quality of service we get for a very reasonable price.  The highlights have to be the pictures and videos that appear on Facebook, and we love the days where a stinky overgrown pooch is picked up, but a beautifully trimmed and sweet smelling one returns.  It is great that so many different services are provided under one roof.  Halo Dogs have never let us down, never left a muddy dog (and knowing Edie she must be filthy after a day at the farm), and are always flexible if our needs change.  We equally love the work Justin and the team do for the welfare of less fortunate dogs.  It is nice to feel that by supporting Halo Dogs, we are in some small way helping those dogs who aren’t as well cared for and loved as Edie.
